Schedule A Fitness Orientation
At the Malden Y, we understand that your first time on the fitness floor might be a little confusing - maybe even a little intimidating. We have invested in some of the latest in state-of-the-art fitness equipment and we offer many options for you to achieve your fitness goals. We know that not everyone is a fitness guru with years of experience using this type of equipment. That's why we have professional fitness staff who DO have years of experience here to help you.
As part of your new member onboarding, we are pleased to offer you a complimentary fitness orientation. The orientation is offered in a group format* and lasts approximately 60 minutes.
In your orientation you can expect the following:
1. A comprehensive walk through of our cardio area, including basic functionality of the treadmills, the Lateral Octane X, eXpresso bikes, and upright bikes.

2. A guided tour of the "Cybex Circuit", which will go through each of our Cybex Selectorized Equipment pieces so that you feel comfortable setting them up and using them on your own.
3. If time allows, the fitness staff member may also show you one or two other pieces of equipment such as the "battling ropes, medicine balls, etc".
DID YOU MISS YOUR CHANCE TO HAVE A FITNESS ORIENTATION WHEN YOU FIRST JOINED US?
Don't worry! Fitness orientations aren't only for new members. If you think you would benefit from an orientation, please don't hesitate to register for an orientation with one of our professional fitness staff.
All you have to do is send an e-mail to our Director of Healthy Living. Please write "Fitness Orientation Request" in the subject line and in the body of the e-mail put your name, phone number, e-mail address, preferred method of contact, ideal time to receive a phone call (if phone is your preferred method), and the trainer you would like to work with (if you have a preference). We'll reach out to you shortly after that to schedule an appointment.

Please wear comfortable workout clothing. No boots, dress shoes, etc are allowed on the fitness floor.
*If you prefer a one-on-one orientation, you can request one in lieu of the group format.
