The Mystic Community Market is a best-in-class food distribution center that places an emphasis on nutrition and community health.

With 21% (1 in 5) of Medford residents facing food insecurity, many Medford families utilize our free food markets. Mystic Valley YMCA has partnered with Greater Boston Food Bank and Walnut Street Center to join in Medford’s pursuit to eradicate hunger and to achieve the GBFB vision of a Hunger Free Eastern Massachusetts by 2028.

The Malden YMCA Food Market provides free food for individuals and families that need it. One registration per household, please.

Registration only takes a few minutes CLICK HERE to register and pick up your key tag at your first visit. Please let the person scanning cards know that you pre-registered online.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 1 card per appointment
  • 1 card per household
  • 1 household visit per week, Monday-Saturday
    • Understanding that many people live in shared housing units, our market defines those who you share food with as your household.

APPOINTMENT INSTRUCTIONS

  • Please arrive on time for your appointment window, each window is 15 minutes in length
  • If you miss your appointment time, we will do our best to accommodate you, but time is not guaranteed outside of appointment window
  • Please move through the market space in a timely fashion to help us stay on schedule for all shoppers
  • Please bring a reusable bag or cart
  • Appointment registration closes at 6pm the night prior
  • To schedule your appointment:

  • Pick-up for multiple households, please contact the market for appointment pick-up time on Thursdays
  • Last walk-in during those hours will be accepted 15 minutes prior to close
